Venice Heat
Arrival After arriving late in Venice and checking into our hotel, we inquired the next morning about sightseeing in the old city. The receptionist advised us to obtain a 48-hour public transport ticket, which would allow us to travel everywhere in and around Venice, including the neighboring islands of Murano and Burano, for two days. First day: Venice and Murano The next morning, we walked to the bus stop near the hotel. After a 20-minute ride over the bridge to Venice, we got off at the Central Station, grabbed a map, and bought a few bottles of ice-cold water. We checked the right boats and headed to Murano. Murano is a half-hour boat trip from Venice. It is a small, historic island town with souvenir shops selling local handmade glass.
